Meet Andrew
I am the father of sons, Otto and Wyatt and daughter, Eden that attend Atwater Elementary School and husband to a Pediatric Endocrinologist. While I was born and raised in Ohio, my wife, Beth Auble's career brought us to Wisconsin 10 years ago. We are delighted to have found a place that values education, equity, and community to raise our children. For the past 10 years, I have been lucky to be a stay-at-home dad. It has taught me a lot about myself and the uniqueness that all families experience in day to day life. Our family enjoys time together and can be found watching live music in a park, camping, playing games, sports, and finding any other fun new adventures.
Prior to becoming a stay-at-home dad, my career was in K-12 education. After obtaining an undergraduate degree in Sports and Recreation Organization I worked in endurance sports promotion primarily in the summer, which led me to substitute teaching in the winter. Substitute teaching ignited my interest in education and I enrolled in a Masters of Education program, became an elementary classroom teacher for six years, and ended my education career as an Assistant Principal for three years.
Through my education work, I gained valuable experiences important to the success of day-to-day management of a school and school district. I learned the importance of relationship building to reach students, families, staff, and community members to understand and address their unique needs. Most notably, I learned the importance of two-way communication led by listening before responding. I try to instill an awareness of this important lesson in my children everyday.
Currently I am one of the managing partners with the Tour of America's Dairyland bicycle races.
